Finding Long Lake

The Pioneer is on Long Lake in Sarona, in Washburn County, Wisconsin, about two hours from the Twin Cities.

Rice Lake, Birchwood and Spooner are all close by, with Hayward and Shell Lake a short drive further. If you are coming from town, you want County Highway M, and the address is N1690. Look for the brown lakeside building with the Pioneer lettering on the gable and the eagle weathervane on top.

Call 715-354-3500 if you are on your way and want a table or a slip. Come by land or by sea. Guests tie up at the dock as often as they park, so if you are on the lake in your own boat, pull in and come up for a pizza.
